We’re getting a new batch of rings this week! I HOPE that you LOVE these rings! With your purchase of Adventure Comics #4, you get a free Blue Lantern Corps ring and a Violet Lantern Corps ring with Outsiders #24. We also still have plenty of ring displays for sale; they’re $1.99 for a set of 8. We have some setup in the showcase, so you can see what they look like. Also, Superman Batman #66 is a Blackest Night tie-in coming in this week.
I’m really excited that there is a Dr. Horrible One-Shot comic coming out this week. It’s written by Zack Whedon with art by Joelle Jones (one of my favorite artists). This book covers Dr. Horrible’s origins, but don’t worry, Captain Hammer, Penny and Moist are in it too! If you don’t know what Dr. Horrible is, it’s a 45 minute movie done by Joss, Zack and Jed Whedon during the writer’s strike. It’s a musical about a villain and his attempts to get his love’s attention while trying to rule the world. It’s brilliant and everyone should watch it! Because a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!
We got a preview copy of Victorian Undead #1 a few weeks ago to read and it’s coming out this week. It’s about a zombie infestation that takes place during Sherlock Holmes’ time. Holmes and Watson are investigating what these undead things are and where they came from. There’s also a robot. It’s pretty interesting and I’m definitely curious on where this is going to lead.
Flash Rebirth #5 makes a great deal of changes for the Flash including Barry Allen sacrificing his life. Since when do they tell you that in the description for the book? It does say that it doesn’t mean what we think it means, so I guess that’s why. Amazing Spider-Man #612 features Spidey vs. Elektro, winner of the Dumbest Mask Ever Award. I think the only reason they haven’t updated this guy’s costume is because it makes for so many great jokes! And in Dark Avengers #11, we have Norman Osborn dressed in a Spider-Man suit. So maybe, it’s really Norman Osborn vs. Elektro. Hmmm….
We also have a good selection of new series starting this week. Talisman: Road of Trials #1 is the prequel for a book written by Stephen King and Peter Straub. Farscape and Transformers finally get their own ongoing series. In Justice Society of America 80-Page Giant #1, the new members learn a little bit more about themselves and so do we! Black Knight #1 tells the story of Excalibur’s (the sword) counterpart, Chaos the Doombringer. Kookaburra K #1 follows some refugees from a destroyed planet as they try to find a way to survive and features art by Humberto Ramos. Realms of Kings and Realm of Kings Inhumans #1 continues some more space inspired stories from Marvel.
